The MIME GSB (Grad Student Body) student club was established by graduate students for graduate students in the interest of creating opportunities to exercise our social skills while networking with peers and faculty outside of the classroom. We hold events throughout the year to develop interdisciplinary camaraderie, learn about one another's research, and relax in a supportive environment.

For example, MIME GSB members periodically meet up for an afternoon happy hours, network at local pizza joints, convene for board game nights, barbecues, and the occasional game of dodgeball. We've also established an MIME faculty and student intramural soccer team and we organize faculty–student matches.

As part of last year's Prospective Graduate Student Weekend, MIME GSB members took our visitors up to Portland for a tour of the city, a visit to a local brewery and the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (not necessarily in that order).

Who Can Join the MIME GSB?

All MIME graduate students are de facto members of the GSB and are welcome at any and all scheduled events.

How Can I Find Out About MIME GSB Events?

Our events advertised in the MIME E-bulletin, posted on bulletin boards around the school, announced via MIME grad student listserv and word of mouth.
