Undergraduate Students

Undergraduate students majoring in Mechanical Engineering (ME), Industrial Engineering (IE), Manufacturing Engineering (MfgE) or Energy Engineering Management (EEM) must first complete the requirements of the pre-engineering program. Students who begin their engineering studies at OSU typically complete these requirements during their first two years here. Many ME, IE, MfgE and EEM undergraduates, however, transfer to OSU after completing their pre-engineering program requirements at another accredited institution.

Admission to the professional engineering program is by application only and is based on academic performance. The minimum acceptable grade point average varies depending on the number of applicants each year. Students generally apply in the spring for admission beginning the following Fall quarter. A small number of students are also accepted to begin the professional program in the Winter quarter, although the cut-off GPA is generally higher for admission at this time.

Applying to the Professional Program is done online through the College of Engineering's website. Refer to the chart below to see when applications are available.
