Research Interests
Dr. Paul conducts research on arrayed microfluidics for green nanosynthesis (e.g., nanoparticle and macromolecular synthesis); microreactor-assisted materials processing (e.g., nanomaterial deposition); precision bonding for microsystem packaging (including nanoparticle-assisted, precision adhesive, and differential thermal expansion methods); and
packaging of arrayed microfluidic systems for distributed and portable energy, chemical, and biomedical applications, especially via microlamination (patterning and bonding of thin layers of material).
In addition to his faculty appointment in the School of MIME, Dr. Paul also co-directs the Microproducts Breakthrough Institute (MBI), a collaboration between Oregon State University and the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory committed to developing micro- and nanotechnologies for sustainable energy, healthy environments, and improved lives.
