Today – Robotics Club Launches Seminar Series

The Robotics Club is having its first club seminar this evening, and it is open to all students. This is an informal presentation by robotics faculty and faculty in robotics related fields on what they are currently researching. This is a fantastic opportunity to meet faculty and learn about the great robotics program we have right here at Oregon State. The first presentation is by Jonathan Nash, June Marion, and club president Nick McComb from the Ocean Mixing Group. The panel will discuss a project to design a new generation of Autonomous Research Vessels (ARVs) that can be programmed to measure ocean dynamics in extreme environments.  This research project involves the design, construction, and programing of robust systems that will be used to explore ocean dynamics in Greenland, Alaska, India, and in other remote ocean basins.

Job and Internship Opportunities

FEATURED:

NANO3D Systems LCC, located in Corvallis at the Microproducts Breakthrough Institute, is recruiting for a post doc. Apply here. The fellowship is fully funded ($75,000 per year plus health insurance) by NSF’s SBIR ASEE program. About NANO3D Systems: Research activities are aimed at the development of NANO3D platform technology to produce large-scale arrays of magnetic nano- and microstructures and testing their feasibility for biomedical applications. The new platform addresses barriers to sensitive, scalable, high-throughput use of magnetic shaped microstructures. These barriers are high deviation in size and magnetic properties of the magnetic particles as well as its low sensitivity and low signal-to- noise ratio for the application as MRI contrast agents. The platform based on utilizing a NANO3D eLOCOS technology which is low cost, scalable and selective electrochemical metallization technology for ‘bottom-up’ fill of the pre-patterned substrates to produce well-controlled in size magnetic structures. Apply here.
