KUDOS TO ASME CONTEST WINNERS!

Congratulations to all 12 students in OSU’s ASME chapter who participated and won awards at the annual ASME-sponsored Student Professional Development Conference on April 17–18 at WSU in Pullman, Washington. Eileen Nall took first place in the Old Guard Technical Poster Competition with her research poster on micro/nano surface pool boiling for advanced cooling (currently in the display case on the 100-level of Dearborn Hall); Bryan O'Halloran, Evan DeBlander, and Eric Hyde took second place in the "Mars Rocks" Student Design Competition for their R134a robot; Tim Roberson, Aaron Wilburn, Aaron Kravitz, and Tristan Lee placed in the "Mars Rocks" Student Design Competition for their Beaver Tracks robot; Tim Tunnermann competed in the Radio Controlled Micro Baja Car Competition and will no doubt be back next year with the top car; and Jesse Grimes entered the Old Guard Technical Web Page Design Competition. Matt Chiasson (ASME president) and Ryan Spies helped the OSU ASME student chapter win an award for greatest number of chapter attendees.

And a special thank you to Douglas Van Bossuyt, Dr. Joe Zaworski, and Dr. Irem Tumer who helped organize the students and bring them to the event—the group also won an award for longest distance traveled to reach the conference!
