2009 MIME STUDENT VS
FACULTY SOCCER TOURNAMENT RESULTS
Congratulations to the MIME faculty
for upholding their title on Friday, March 13, at the 2nd annual
MIME Student vs. Faculty Soccer Tournament hosted by the OSU Student Chapter of Institute
of Industrial Engineers (IIE). One faculty team and two student teams were
formed, and six games were played in a round-robin tournament style. The
faculty fared the best (3-0-1), and the student teams each ended up with
a win (1-2-1 and 1-3-0). Photos of the game, courtesy of IIE chapter

KUDOS TO MAT SCI STUDENT MORGAN EMERSON!
Congratulations to materials science graduate student Morgan Emerson for winning 1st place in the 2009 ASM International
Oregon Chapter Student Presentation Competition in Portland last Tuesday, April
14th. Emerson received a $300 cash award for her talk titled "High Energy
Density Dielectric Thin Films." To view her abstract, click

YOUR ADVISOR MAY HAVE CHANGED. The 4-week spring advising period starts
this Monday, April 20th. Remember that you will need to schedule
your 15-minute advising appointment (with the correct advisor) in order to get
the all-important PIN that allows you to register for fall term classes. To

Commencement Ceremony is on Saturday, June 13, at 10:30 am in Reser Stadium.

Senior Research Engineer will develop and apply methods for commercial

SHARE YOUR PASSION FOR ENGINEERING AND SCIENCE WITH MIDDLE SCHOOL
STUDENTS THIS SUMMER. Oregon 4H will host the Exxon Bernard Harris Summer
Camp on the OSU campus August 1–15. Forty-eight 6th, 7th,
and 8th grade students will live in OSU dorms for 2 weeks and
participate in a wide variety of engineering and science activities. Camp Counselors

student with demonstrated software skills to write a C sharp application. This
application will regularly parse log files in order to extract the information
