Nissan Plug In Vehicle Prototype
Display. 3:30–6 pm, Plaza behind KEC. The
plug in electric vehicle represents an important step toward
alternative modes of transportation that significantly reduce green house gas
emissions, and will be deployed in Oregon
beginning October 2010. Come check out the prototype!

SHARE YOUR PASSION FOR ENGINEERING AND SCIENCE WITH MIDDLE SCHOOL
STUDENTS THIS SUMMER. Oregon 4H will host the Exxon Bernard Harris Summer
Camp on the OSU campus from August 1–15. Forty-eight 6th, 7th,
and 8th grade students will live in OSU dorms for 2 weeks and
participate in a wide variety of engineering and science activities. Camp Counselors

RESEARCH ASSOCIATESHIP PROGRAMS. National
Research Council of the National Academies sponsors a number of awards for post-doctoral
and senior researchers at federal laboratories. These awards
provide stipends ($42,000–$72,000 per year for recent PhD recipients and higher
for additional experience), and the opportunity to do independent research in well-equipped
and staffed laboratories across the US. For more info, a list of participating
