THE
OSU ROBOTICS CLUB NEEDS YOUR HELP
The OSU Robotics Club
(OSURC) is participating in a Mars Rover Challenge hosted by the Mars Society
this June. Help is needed with some sheet metal work in the construction
of a robotic arm for the competition. This arm needs to be able to affix a
1/2" hex bolt to a control panel at heights between 15 and 75 cm off
of the ground. It also needs to be as light as possible without hindering
structural integrity.
OSURC has a good
idea for the design but no way of creating it. They could use the help of
enthusiastic students with experience in sheet metal work (especially basic brake
press operation, shear, and drilling holes) and access to a shop.
For more info, visit http://oregonstate.edu/groups/osurc/rover/
OR http://forums.parallax.com/forums/default.aspx?f=10&m=253610.
If you can help, contact Ryan Albright, OSURC Vice President, at albrighr@engr.orst.edu.
