THANKS TO ALL INDUSTRY RECEPTION ATTENDEES
Last Wednesday the Schools of MIME & EECS hosted
another successful Industry Reception, with over 200 MIME and EECS students in
attendance. The pre-reception faculty–industry meet-and-greet was also very
well attended, and participating industry reps expressed their appreciation for
this opportunity to connect with MIME faculty and learn more about our
engineering curriculum and research programs.
Our sincere thanks to all MIME attendees—faculty
and students alike—for supporting this annual industry-funded networking and
recruiting event.
ATTENTION
MIME PRO-SCHOOL STUDENTS:
LAST CALL FOR MIME WINTER
BANQUET SIGN-UPS
If you are an MIME pro-school student, please join us at the
2nd Annual MIME Winter Banquet on Tuesday, March 10, 6:00–8:00
pm, in the MU ballroom. Take a break during dead week and enjoy a FREE
catered dinner, socialize with friends, bid adieu to folks who are heading off
campus, and congratulate this year’s winners of the IME and ME Outstanding
Senior and Professor awards. IMPORTANT: We need
to know how much food to order, so if you plan to attend, please sign up in
Rogers 204 (office hours: Mon–Fri, 8 am–12 pm & 1–5 pm). Banquet
registration closes at 5 pm on Monday, March 2.
IT’S
THE FINAL WEEK TO SUPPORT THE 2009 OSU FOOD DRIVE!
The annual OSU Food Drive is coming to a close. The School
of MIME has already helped to raise $300 and a box full of canned goods, but we
still have one week left to help the non-profit agencies served by the
Linn-Benton Food Share. There are food collection locations in the two MIME
offices (Rogers 204 and Dearborn 102). For a 2009 OSU Food
Drive calendar of events and list of acceptable food items, click here.
Below are the ongoing MIME-specific fund/food-raising endeavors:
·
FREE JAMBA JUICE! (While supplies last). Students who bring 5 or more approved food
items (and faculty & staff who bring 10 or more food items) to Dearborn
102 or Rogers 204 will receive a coupon for a FREE Jamba
Juice.
·
POPCORN SALE!
Small bags of fresh, hot popcorn are available for students, faculty, and staff
to buy for $0.50 in the Dearborn 102 office. All proceeds go to the food drive.
·
RAFFLE TICKETS FOR SALE! Students,
faculty, and staff are invited to stop by Dearborn 102 and purchase raffle
tickets for a chance to win a $20 gift certificate to Shogun Bowl, Dutch
Brothers, or Café Yumm. Tickets are $0.50 each
and all proceeds go to the food drive. (Faculty/Staff can also purchase $1
raffle tickets for a chance to win one of Gary Borntrager’s
delicious cakes). Drawing takes place this Friday, February 27th,
and winners will be notified via e-mail.
Special announcement: If you purchase a Jamba Juice at the Monroe
Ave. location during the month of February, don’t forget to mention the OSU
Food Drive, and 20% of your purchase will be donated to the Linn Benton Food
Share.
