ATTENTION ALL MIME
STUDENTS:
REGISTER
NOW FOR THE FEB 19th INDUSTRY RECEPTION!
Dear MIME Students:
The Third Annual EECS &
MIME Industry Reception happens
next Tuesday,
February 19, 5:45–7:45 pm (the evening before the
Engineering Career Fair) in the Kelley
Engineering Center. This event is for every
MIME student—undergrads, grads, IE, ManufE, ME,
and Mat Sci, Freshmen
through PhD. It features
an hors d’oeuvres reception in the KEC Atrium followed
by two break-out sessions where you meet with selected companies in smaller
groups.
The Industry
Reception is a free event designed
to help you meet companies and network. Some organizations are hiring for
internships and full-time positions, others just want you to get better
acquainted with their company. Even if you’re not looking for work right
now, it’s very important to get out there and start forming relationships with
the people who might one day help find you an internship/job.
What’s great
about this event is that it allows you to meet people from companies in a more
low-key setting, giving you a little more time to decide if their organization
is a good fit for you. A list of participating companies and other event
details are available at http://eecs.oregonstate.edu/undergraduate/febReception/index.htm
Sign up for the reception online!
To sign up for the reception, visit http://eecs.oregonstate.edu/undergraduate/reception/stud.php . Register ASAP for the best selection of company break-out
sessions. Last day to sign up is Thursday, Feb.
14.
Also,
ALL MIME students (whether attending the reception or not) are invited to upload a copy of your resume for
inclusion in a resume book for our INSPiRE member companies
(Cypress Semiconductor, Garmin, GE, HP, Intel, and Tektronix). Upload your resume at http://eecs.oregonstate.edu/undergraduate/febReception/resumeUpload.htm.
And be sure to bring a handful of resumes to the Industry
Reception itself!
(Also,
don’t forget the Engineering Career Fair, Feb. 20. Even more
employers will be in attendance there, and will be hoping to meet you.
This year they’re expecting to pack the Alumni Center
once again as the Fair is sold out. More details at http://oregonstate.edu/career/)
