STUDENT VOLUNTEERS
NEEDED FOR IIE ANNUAL CONFERENCE (May 17-21, Vancouver, BC). Each year, students contribute
greatly to the success of the IIE Annual Conference by helping with a variety
of tasks. Bag stuffing and registration are two of the areas where we
count on student help. We need 30 student volunteers. For each 8 hours you
work, you’ll receive a $100 discount on your conference registration. Student
early registration is only $155 for members and $195 for non-members, so you
can work off a significant amount of your cost by giving us a day of your time.
To volunteer, complete this online form:
http://www.zoomerang.com/survey.zgi?p=WEB227CJ3LU5GK. All we need is your
contact information, and we'll get in touch with you regarding specific areas you
can help with. More information about the conference is at http://www.iienet.org/annual. If you have any questions,
please contact Heather
Bradley, Director of Membership, IIE, at (770) 349-1122 or hbradley@iienet.org. [posted 1/22]

INVITATION TO
ARL–ONAMI POSTER/INTERVIEW SESSION: Mon, Feb 4, 4:00-6:00 pm, Kelley
Engineering Center. While
poster presentation is primarily for those who submitted white papers, ARL is
also interested in project collaborations and collaborative relationships with
academic researchers—in particular, meeting
candidates for the following types of positions in their laboratories (in Adelphi,
MD, and very well equipped): Graduate student internships;
Postdoctoral fellows; and Faculty sabbaticals. If you, or any of your students or postdocs are interested in an introduction leading to an
interview with ARL, please send an RSVP and C.V. to Elin McIlhattan (emcilhat@uoregon.edu) no later than Monday, January 28, 2008. Note: Even if you didn’t submit a white paper and
don’t have any candidates for these types of positions, you are still
encouraged to attend this event for the purposes of “mixing” and discovering
potential collaboration opportunities and relationships. We now know that
past ONAMI “mega mixers” were seminal for several current successful
efforts. You don’t need to RSVP to simply attend, but should plan on
getting a nametag when you arrive. [posted 1/22]
