WAVE ENERGY RESEARCH FEATURED IN PRESIDENT’S REPORT

OSU’s broad-based involvement in alternative energy development, including wave and tidal energy exploration at the new Northwest National Marine Renewable Energy Center, are featured in the winter 2008 issue of President Ray’s quarterly report, “This is Your OSU.” Click here to view footage of electricity being generated off the coast of Newport and read “Expanding Our Energy Portfolio.”

KUDOS TO EWB–OSU ON THE EL SALVADOR WATER PROJECT INITIATIVE!

Also featured in the winter issue of President Ray’s report is the El Salvador Water Project initiative spearheaded by the OSU student chapter of Engineers Without Borders (EWB–OSU).  Since 2006, EWB–OSU teams have been travelling to a remote area of El Salvador to build rainwater catchment and gravity-fed spring-water systems in a high-elevation rainforest community of coffee farmers. These concerted efforts have provided 150 Salvadoran families with unprecedented year-round access to clean water. Congratulations to all members of EWB–OSU for your vision, commitment, and accomplishments!
