Dear MIME Students,
Greetings and welcome to the MIME Industry Affiliates Board Professional Development Series web page. (That title is quite a mouthful, so we usually shorten it to IAB PDS.)
The function of the MIME Industry Affiliates Board is to support the educational mission of the School of MIME — that is, to help better prepare you as entrepreneurial, team-oriented, and work-ready graduates in mechanical, industrial, and manufacturing engineering. And that was precisely our goal in creating the IAB PDS.
Leveraging resources and personal networks of our board members (CH2M, Boeing, Tektronix, HP, Mentor Graphics, PECO, Daimler Trucks, Xerox, and others...), we've assembled the IAB Professional Development Series. This annual offering of presentations, lectures, plant tours, and webinars by experienced and prominent industry professionals is designed to augment your college education by providing information and insights straight from the source.
We see this series as a win-win opportunity for industry to share our network and extensive industry experience with students who value an industry connection. Topics may be presented through specific engineering classes or co-sponsored by your ASME, SME, and IIE student chapters.
Watch the MIME e-bulletin, club listservs, and hallway bulletin boards for announcements about upcoming PDS events. This school year, we hope you’ll take advantage of this unique opportunity to participate and interact with industry leaders.
