What does the IAC do?
The
Oregon State University Industrial Assessment Center (IAC) offers small and
medium-sized manufacturers a comprehensive on-site assessment. Student teams led
by engineering faculty visit Northwest manufacturers and seek ways to increase
profits by increasing productivity and reducing energy use and waste. Within 60
days, the IAC sends a report to the client with analysis and specific
recommendations to improve efficiency. The IAC:
- Visits 25 Northwest Manufacturers each year
- Saved an average of $183,000 annually per plant
- Served over 500 manufacturers in 15 years.

Application requirements:
- One Year Commitment (10-20 hours/week during school, full time in summer)
- Engineering major preferred (Other majors possible)
- Experience with MS Windows, Word, and Excel (manuals and tutorials available)
