Graduate Assistantships

The School of Mechanical, Industrial, and Manufacturing Engineering (MIME) has a limited number of graduate teaching and research assistantships in Industrial Engineering (IE). These assistantships are awarded to the most qualified students on a very competitive basis, based on academic records, letters of recommendations, and prior skills. The School of MIME does not award scholarships or grant tuition waivers to IE graduate students.

To be considered for an IE graduate assistantship, you must already have been admitted into Oregon State University. Item 10 on the OSU Application for Graduate Admission form asks if you wish to be considered for a graduate appointment. If you would like to be considered for such a position pending acceptance into graduate school, check the "Yes" box. Once you have been admitted, you will automatically be placed on a list of students requesting assistantships. No other actions or forms are required.

Although assistantships become available throughout the year, the majority begin fall term. Recipients are identified by approximately April 15 of each year. You must be admitted by that date to be considered for an assistantship. To maximize your chances of receiving an assistantship, you should submit a completed graduate school application by January 15th of the year for which you are seeking admission.
