Course Description
This course focuses on the integration of electronics and use of digital controls and microcontroller technology with mechanical systems. Course participants will apply control theory to electromechanical system simulations using Mentor Graphics' SystemVision software.
Topics
- Electric circuits and semiconductor devices
- Analog and digital devices
- Microcontrollers
- Data acquisition and sensors
- Actuators
Learning Outcomes
The student, upon completion of this course, will be able to:
- Analyze basic electrical circuits including semiconductor devices.
- Analyze basic analog and digital signaling circuits including operational amplifiers and TTL/CMOS integrated circuit systems.
- Use a variety of sensors, actuators, and data acquisition techniques.
- Demonstrate a basic knowledge of microcontroller operation in mechatronic control situations.
