Course Description
Introduction to SolidWorks CAD software. Applications of software to create solid models, engineering drawings, and assemblies.

- Introduction to SolidWorks user interface, view controls, and model structure
- Creating simple objects
- Revolved protrusions, mirror copies, rounds, and chamfers
- Datum and sketcher tools
- Patterns and copies
- Engineering drawings
- Assembly: fundamentals and operations
- Sweeps and blends
- Individual project
Learning Outcomes
The student, upon completion of this course, will be able to:
- Apply the CAD modeling skills learned in this class to real-world problems.
- Create a CAD assembly model with descriptions of its function/improvements.
- Identify and apply pertinent modeling methods and practices.
