Course Description

Working in multi-disciplinary teams, design, implement, and document a piece of public art work or science museum display. Projects may be made of any media, but must demonstrate creativity both in the engineering used to create them and the message they convey.

 

Topics

  • Analyze relationships among science, technology, and society

  • Analyze the role of science and technology in shaping diverse fields of study over time

  • Reflect critically on the characteristics and effects of literary and artistic works


Learning Outcomes

The student, upon successful completion of this course, will be able to:

  1. Work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team and provide constructive criticism for other class members

  2. Document the creative process and the resulting product

  3. Design a solution to a posed problem where the solution involves both an engineering and theoretical (concept) component

  4. Implement a design

  5. Create, and execute an evaluation plan
