About the School of MIME
The School of Mechanical, Industrial, and Manufacturing Engineering (MIME) at Oregon State comprises about 40 full-time faculty members and instructors, 20 staff members and research associates,
180 graduate students, and 1350 undergraduate students.
We offer undergraduate programs in mechanical engineering (ME), industrial engineering (IE), manufacturing engineering (MfgE)and energy engineering management (EEM). We offer graduate programs in ME and IE as well as an interdisciplinary graduate program in materials science.
Fields of specialization in ME include design and mechanics, robotics & control, materials, and thermal–fluid sciences.
Within the IE and MfgE programs, fields of specialization include manufacturing systems engineering, information systems engineering, human systems engineering, and nano/micromanufacturing.
Our faculty are leaders in the emerging, interdisciplinary research areas of their fields. Collectively, they bring in about $2 million annually in research funding, with annual individual research
expenditures averaging about $300,000.
