ABET, Inc.
Three of the four MIME undergraduate degree programs – Mechanical, Industrial, and Manufacturing Engineering – have been accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, 111 Market Place, Suite 1050, Baltimore, MD 21202-4012. Telephone: 410-347-7700.
Our newest degree program in Energy Engineering Management, established in 2010, will be submitted for accreditation consideration in a future ABET review cycle.
All MIME undergraduate programs share the same Mission and Program Educational Objectives (PEOs). The MIME Mission and PEOs were developed and approved by the MIME faculty and our Industry Affiliates Board. The PEOs are broad statements that describe what graduates are expected to attain within a few years of graduation and are based on the needs of a program’s constituencies.
To satisfy the MIME mission and to meet the MIME PEOs, we have defined Student Outcomes for each of the currently accredited undergraduate programs in MIME. These student outcomes, some of which are program-specific, describe the knowledge, skills, and behaviors that characterize all new graduates of the respective degree program:
Our courses are selected and structured to ensure that every student who earns a bachelor's degree from the School of MIME meets the student outcomes for that degree program. The connections between required courses and student outcomes for each accredited MIME degree program are shown at the following links:
More information about each of our undergraduate programs and the specific course requirements associated with those programs is accessible from the MIME Undergraduate Programs page.
Content descriptions and course learning outcomes for all ME, IE, MfgE, and MIME-hosted ENGR courses are also available at the following links:
